Bonnie Brown is an independent doll sculptor working from Victoria, Australia. Originally from Nelson, New Zealand, she creates lifelike infant designs by hand-sculpting in clay before selected originals are reproduced as vinyl kits for artists to paint and assemble.
On her official website, Bonnie recalls becoming fascinated by reborning as a teenager, then experimenting with sculpting her own babies. She dates the beginning of her self-produced vinyl-kit line to around 2010. Her work includes recognisable original designs such as Twin A, Twin B, Saskia and Levi, each associated with the meticulous observation of infant features and expression.
Bonnie has also spoken publicly about protecting original sculptors from counterfeit kits. Her official vinyl gallery distinguishes designs for which the page has carried 'available' and 'sold out' labels. Reborna preserves those historical collection identities but does not treat an undated gallery label as evidence of current stock or authorisation of a particular seller.
