SCULPT ARTWORK · NOT AN ARTIST PORTRAITMayra Garza is a sculptor from Monterrey, Mexico, whose work combines traditional dollmaking with close observation of infant expression. Her interest in sculpture grew from years of painting, collecting dolls and working in preschool education.
Mayra's own biography describes beginning to sculpt dolls in 2000, developing her approach to anatomy and expression before having original creations reproduced in vinyl and resin. Her reborn kit gallery presents eleven named vinyl designs, including Mariana, Summer, Roberto, Renata and Lark. Those original designs are manufactured by City of Reborn Angels — distinct from Mayra's role as the original sculptor.
Mayra explicitly says that the photographs on her kit-gallery page are painted finished prototypes, displayed to show the possible result of reborning the original blank kits. She urges collectors to buy authentic products only through her authorised dealers. Reborna follows that distinction: a source photograph does not imply a finished doll is being sold or that the kit is currently in stock.
